Patented Rib Design: Small Design Decisions. Long-Term Impact.

When people look at a Rainstopper insert, one of the first things they notice is the ribbed design built into the pan.

Those ribs aren’t there for appearance. They serve a purpose.

Our patented rib structure adds strength where it’s needed most, helping the insert maintain its shape under load while resisting deformation over years of service. The design also increases rigidity without adding unnecessary weight, making installation and routine maintenance easier.

The same engineering principle is used across both our HDPE and stainless steel inserts, with each material designed to meet different application needs.

In HDPE inserts, the molded rib structure helps increase stiffness and reduce the risk of deformation or cracking while keeping the insert lightweight.

In stainless steel inserts, stamped reinforcing ribs add structural strength and rigidity, helping the insert maintain its performance under heavy loads and demanding field conditions.

Like many of Rainstopper’s patented features, the ribbed design didn’t begin as an idea looking for a problem. It was developed to solve challenges seen in the field and refined through years of real-world installations.

Small design decisions often make the biggest difference over time.

At Rainstopper, that’s how we approach product development: practical engineering that helps municipalities, contractors, and operators protect wastewater systems with products built to perform for the long haul.
